Wuhan Yuhu Cold Chain Trading Center Adopts VICDOWEX Modular Container Shops for Commercial Street Development

Wuhan, China – VICDOWEX has successfully completed the delivery and installation of customized modular container shops for the commercial street area of the Yuhu Cold Chain (Wuhan) Trading Center, one of Central China’s most influential cold chain logistics and trading hubs. The project was completed between July and September 2025, demonstrating the efficiency, flexibility, and commercial value of modular construction solutions in large-scale industrial and logistics developments.

Located in Huangpi District, Wuhan, the Yuhu Cold Chain Trading Center enjoys a strategic location near Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and major transportation networks. As a national key project, the center covers approximately 312 acres with a total construction area exceeding 275,000 square meters and a cold storage capacity of around 214,000 tons. The project serves as an important platform for global food trade, cold chain logistics, warehousing, and distribution services.

To support the development of its commercial street and merchant service facilities, the project required modern, flexible, and rapidly deployable commercial spaces. VICDOWEX was selected to provide customized packaged container shops designed to meet the operational requirements of various businesses within the trading center.

The modular commercial units feature a practical two-level layout, combining ground-floor retail areas with second-floor private spaces that can be used as offices, meeting rooms, storage areas, or staff rest zones. This flexible design allows different merchants to adapt the space according to their business needs while maintaining a consistent and modern appearance throughout the commercial street.

Manufactured off-site and delivered in modular form, the units significantly reduced on-site construction work and installation time. Compared with traditional construction methods, the modular approach helped accelerate project delivery while minimizing disruption to surrounding infrastructure and ongoing site activities.

In addition to their rapid deployment advantages, the container shops were customized according to project requirements, including layout configuration, dimensions, façade appearance, and interior functional arrangements.
