Customized Modular Drone Base Completed in Approximately One Month in Coastal Zhanjiang

VICDOWEX has successfully completed the Zhanjiang Low-Altitude Technology Equipment Application Exhibition Center, a customized modular building project designed to support drone applications and low-altitude technology development in Guangdong Province, China.

Located in the coastal city of Zhanjiang, the project covers approximately 240 square meters and serves as a dedicated facility for drone-related operations, equipment applications, and technology demonstrations. From project commencement in late April 2026 to final completion in early June, the entire building was delivered in approximately one month, highlighting the efficiency and flexibility of modular construction.

As the low-altitude economy continues to expand, demand for supporting infrastructure such as drone bases, technology centers, and operational facilities is growing rapidly. To meet the client's requirements, VICDOWEX developed a customized modular building solution that combines flat pack container structural frames with corrugated steel wall panels.

The completed facility provides a practical and durable space for drone-related activities while maintaining the advantages of modular construction, including faster delivery, controlled manufacturing quality, and flexible design options.

One of the key highlights of this project was its accelerated construction schedule.

Through factory prefabrication and efficient on-site installation, the project progressed smoothly from manufacturing to final handover in approximately 30 days. Compared with traditional construction methods, modular construction significantly reduces project timelines while minimizing on-site labor requirements and maintaining consistent quality standards.

The building was delivered with interior finishing completed, allowing the facility to be put into operation immediately after project completion.

The project site is located near the coastline, where buildings are regularly exposed to strong winds, high humidity, and salt-laden air. These environmental conditions required additional attention during both the design and construction phases.

To improve long-term durability, all steel components were treated with a three-layer anti-corrosion coating system. This protective treatment helps reduce the impact of moisture and salt exposure, extending the service life of the building and reducing future maintenance requirements.

Structural reinforcement was another important aspect of the project.

Each wall panel was installed using welded connections to create a stronger and more secure overall structure. Additional square steel tube reinforcements were incorporated behind the wall panels to further improve stability and wind resistance.

These measures help ensure reliable performance in coastal environments where seasonal storms and strong winds are common.
